Football!!!

For those of you who don't know, we are huge Oregon State University fans! My entire family tree is made up of orange and black. Neither Brian or I can claim it as our Alma Mater. (We went to a smaller college just up the road where our respective degree programs were dominant. However, our football program was worse than my high school's...I'm not kidding. Our family let us adopt OSU for football and, as an added bonus, we are still allowed to come to family reunions.) The thing I like about Beaver fans is that you know they are true fans. It is not like Notre Dame or Stanford where you can fake being a fan because it is a "sexy" school. In order to root for the Orange and Black, you have to be a dedicated fan and overcome all the jokes that come along with your mascot. When you meet a fellow Beaver fan, you know they are there for the love of it, not the glory.

Anyway, my point is that the Beavs had a fantastic game yesterday!!! It was right down to the last 4 seconds and it was fabulous. They are having a great year! The beat the USC Trojans (see how easy it is to insert any number of jokes here) and they are on track to go to the Rose Bowl for the first time since 1965!!!! Wow! So exciting. I can't wait until next weekend. It is the Civil War (Oregon State Beavers vs. U of Oregon Ducks). That is always a huge game, but this year it could be their ticket to the Rose Bowl. If they beat the Ducks, they are on their way to meet Penn State in Pasadena. Yay! I can hardly wait for the weekend.
