Here are some pictures from our hike to Hiji Falls a few weeks ago. It was so much fun. The walk made me a little homesick and a whole lotta sweaty...it's humid here. The hike was on the northside of the island and it reminded me a lot of hiking in the woods by the Umpqua or the Farm. The trees were slightly different, but there were bunches of ferns, bubbling water, birds, and a shady canopy of foliage. It was delightful. The girls loved it. They led the pack most of the way and were happy little hikers. There was lots of talk about Paddyland and all the doggies' adventures in the woods. I guess that is what they pay attention to the most when we go hiking. It went a lot like this, "Remember when Bubba and Hallie went under the woodpile and Katie and Paddy and Spider went over the woodpile?" "Yeah, and remember when Hallie went swimming in the pond and made puffing sounds?" "Remember Mommy?!?" (mommy) "Gasp! Wheeze!, Yes, I do remember." "Daddy, I miss the doggies. Remember how they wagged their tails all the time when they were in the woods?" (Daddy, who is the champion of few words, just wags his tush back and forth for a bit. Thanks dear.) It was loads of family fun. We went with our good friends the Coles and their girls. Afterwords, we had dinner at a Mexican cafe owned by one of Dionna's former coworkers, Ceaser. It was nummy! Good exercise, Good sightseeing, Top notch company, and excellent food...it doesn't get any better.
